Bautista Leads Black Bears to 9-8 Win Over Privateers
The Thunder Bay Black Bears topped the Memphis Privateers, 9-8, with right fielder Alvaro Bautista playing a big role. Bautista went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Black Bears in the win. Jim Ketring earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 7-7. Joe Keefer recorded the save, his 8th.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Black Bears grabbed the lead when Bautista hit his 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Rod Horta made it 9-8, Thunder Bay.

"No time for posing," said Bautista. "The next game will be here before you know it."

The second-place Black Bears improved to 85-67.
