Racers Continue Skid Thanks to Bell Jr., Wind
|
Waimea center fielder George Bell Jr. had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 8-5 win over the Bowling Green Racers. Andy Salas, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 11-8. Jim Drennen was credited with the save for Waimea, his 4th of the season.
Making an impact for the home team was Andy Robinson. In the bottom of the sixth, the 27-year old center fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 6-4, Wind.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Robinson told the Waimea Today.
