The Albuquerque Cacti pasted the Tallahassee Captains, 15-1. Albuquerque designated hitter Travis Wharton had a big game. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Jason McConville earned the win. Kurtis Rumsey took the loss for Tallahassee. The Cacti improved their record to 83-67 by beating Tallahassee.

In the bottom of the first, Wharton had one of his most important at-bats: a run-scoring single off Kurtis Rumsey that staked the Cacti to a 1-0 lead.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Albuquerque manager Randy Haynes. "Our pregame was pretty good."
