Wind Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat
|
In a low-scoring contest, Bowling Green pitcher Alex Blanco was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. Blanco, the winner, moves to 10-6. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 5 walks. The save went to David Heisler, number 19 for him.
In the bottom of the ninth, Roy Santaniello stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Wind were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when David Heisler made a terrific pitch and Santaniello grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Waimea comeback.
The Racers now have a record of 74-75 with the win over Waimea.
