A 4-RBI performance from the 29-year old shortstop Arturo Tijerina helped the Calgary Cowboys beat the Thunder Bay Black Bears, 14-1. Garrett Frankel, the winner, is now 17-8. He struck out 5 and walked 2 over 7.2 innings, while allowing 1 run on 7 hits. Calgary now has a record of 85-65 with the win.

Shawn Kelly had a big 2-run double for the Cowboys in the top of the third inning. With Calgary leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Danny Logan, who is tied for 3rd in the RAAA with a 7.6 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cowboys ahead, 3-0.
