The Minneapolis Freeze picked up a win at The Ice Box, knocking off the Joplin Fireballs, 3-2. Starting pitcher Bobby Hamilton played a key role in the triumph. Picking up the save was Matthew Otto. He's now 12 for 14 in save chances. The Freeze improved their record to 72-76 by beating Joplin.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Freeze had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when second baseman Nathan Albury hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Sean Lapinski and made the score 2-1, Freeze. Albury went 1-3.

"Nice, tidy little win," Albury said after the game.
