Hawaii shortstop Les Hutchinson had a good game, even if his team did not. The Honu dropped a 6-4 decision to Buffalo at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium. Hutchinson was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Picking up the win was Jim Wallace. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 2. Steve Hoefling earned the save, his 6th, for the Bison.

Buffalo catcher Victor Tirado contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Bison ahead, 3-1.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Buffalo manager Jon Green.

Buffalo now has a record of 15-17.
