The Eureka Hornets and Bloomington Blazers provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a low-scoring contest, Bloomington pitcher Chris Maloney was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. The winner was Bloomington reliever Ken Pratt, now 1-0. The loser was Cesar Romo.
Bloomington took a 2-1 lead on Warren Azar's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Azar hit in the top of the seventh, left Eureka pitcher Cesar Romo visibly frustrated.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Juan Montés.
Bloomington is now 10-16.
