Kodiaks Stagger Mustangs with 14-1 Uppercut
The Calgary Kodiaks pounded the Billings Mustangs, 14-1, at Foothills Stadium. Calgary right fielder Ramon Villanueva had a solid game. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Kodiaks. Nazir Nance, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-12. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Adam DeVoe earned save number 1.

Gavin Lawson chipped in a grand slam home run for Calgary in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in.

"Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug," said Billings manager Robbie Doyle. "Today we were the bug."
