Yurick 3-for-5 to Power Black Bears Offense
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Waimea Wind take on the Thunder Bay Black Bears.

The Thunder Bay Black Bears trumped the Waimea Wind, 9-1, at The Wind Tunnel. Thunder Bay center fielder Jeff Yurick was terrific. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Thunder Bay starter Jonathan Fairbanks was credited with the win after throwing 86 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 9-6.

With Thunder Bay leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, Yurick hit a fastball from Marco Acosta for a 3-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Black Bears ahead, 6-1.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Orlando González.

At 93-53, the Black Bears are currently third in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.
