Antioch and Joplin duked it out at The Firepit and the Coal Miners came out victorious.

Antioch Coal Miners starter Chris Costello was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Joplin Fireballs, 6-4. Matthew Gottlieb converted his 6th save in 7 tries.

Mark Cook tagged a home run off Aaron Farmer in the top of the second. His solo blast put the Coal Miners on top, 1-0. In all, Cook had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Cook said in reaction to the win.

With the win, the Coal Miners have a record of 81-65.
