The Fort Worth Cats spoiled a good performance by Calgary first baseman Shawn Kelly, bumping off Calgary, 10-6, at Cowboys Field. Kelly went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The Cats improved their record to 66-79 with the win over Calgary.

Fort Worth needed the clutch hitting of Steve O'Neill to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cats on top, 9-5. For the game, O'Neill had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
