Blazers Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
|
The Quebec Armada could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bruce Gaulton into a win. Instead, the Bloomington Blazers prevailed, 5-4. Gaulton threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Bloomington reliever Victor Ramirez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Nick Cockrell took the loss. Bloomington has a mark of 15-12 after the win.
Jorge Batista was the walk-off hero for Bloomington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blazers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Batista called the win "an overall solid one."
