Flash Topple Swallowtails, 7-2, as Gibson Shines
The Fairfield Flash welcomed the State College Swallowtails to an night game at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Matt Gibson, who is tied for 6th in the RAAA in extra base hits with 60, had a 4-RBI night to help the Fairfield Flash down the State College Swallowtails, 7-2. Ed Brereton, the winner, improved to 6-4. He held the Swallowtails to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1.

In the first inning, Gibson had a grand slam home run for Fairfield. It was his 29th home run of the season and put the Flash on top, 4-0.

Gibson attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."

The loss makes State College 62-82.
