Tight Tilt Goes to Racers, 2-1
|
Starting pitcher Joe Okocha gave the Bowling Green Racers a rock-solid effort. The Lemont, Illinois native helped his team defeat the Memphis Privateers, 2-1, at Top of the Hill. David Heisler earned the save for Bowling Green, his 18th of the year. The Racers improved their record to 72-73 by beating Memphis.
Andres Silvestre took Memphis hurler Luke Vincent deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Racers on top, 2-1. In all, Silvestre had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Silvestre.
