The Vancouver Pioneers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Buffalo designated hitter Jose Espinoza by beating the Bison, 8-6, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Espinoza was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Willie Arredondo got credit for the save for Vancouver. It was his 4th of the year. Buffalo falls to 18-8.

Wonus Hagner, who is tied for 10th in the TML in bases on balls with 14, helped out the Vancouver cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Hagner told the Vancouver Chronicle.
