Eric Church had a strong outing for the State College Swallowtails against the Fairfield Flash at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Justin Weathersby earned save number 2. The win boosts the Swallowtails to 62-81. The loss puts the Flash at 61-82.

State College used the timely hitting of Kai Waga to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Swallowtails on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're in a rut," said Fairfield manager Edward Batkin.
