Coal Miners Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hitmen
The Antioch Coal Miners topped the Calgary Hitmen by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Jim Commo. Commo went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Coal Miners on the day. Antioch reliever Matthew Gottlieb picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Dan Halcomb was saddled with the loss. The third-place Hitmen have lost 4 straight games.

Antioch used the timely hitting of Jayden Crayton to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Coal Miners on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy.
