The Calgary Kodiaks picked up a win at The Ice Box, knocking off the Minneapolis Freeze, 5-4. Starting pitcher Donovan Zuidema was a big reason why. Zuidema yielded 4 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 13-5. It could have been a different outcome for Calgary, had it not been for Mike Young, the 24-year old shortstop . Young contributed a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put Calgary up, 5-1.
