Acadia Park Earns 4-3 Win
|
The Acadia Park Nationals racked up a win at Stars Field, bumping off the State College Swallowtails, 4-3. Ryan Woods, who started for Acadia Park, pitched effectively for his team. Woods got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Terry Hearn earned his 6th save in 8 chances.
Rich Williams came through with a big-time hit for Acadia Park. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Woods told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
With the victory, the Nationals record stands at 42-80.
