The inspired effort of Houghton designated hitter Leo Galdamez was not enough to prevent a loss, 9-7, to the Asheville Moonshiners. Galdamez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Asheville reliever Justin Dolan got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Chris Wethington was tagged with the loss. The Gremlins fall to 9-18 and continue their lackluster start to the 2062 season.

The Moonshiners got a big hit from third baseman Carlos Sosa. In the top of the ninth, Sosa smacked a bases-clearing double off Houghton pitcher Chris Wethington. It was his 5th double of the season. Suddenly, the Moonshiners were ahead, 9-7.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Sosa.
