Black Bears Rally For Late Win Over Beaches
The Thunder Bay Black Bears handed the Cozumel Beaches a loss at Bar Habor Stadium. The final score was 6-4. Major production was provided by Elijah McNeil for Thunder Bay. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 1. He also added 1 walk. Ricky Plasencia, now 4-1, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Keith Sill, who is tied for 3rd in the RAAA in saves with 22, nailed down the save.

Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Matt Cano to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Solid performance from our side," said Black Bears manager Qi-chang Ec.

The win gives Thunder Bay a season record of 90-51.
