Fireballs first baseman Matthew Kolenda left his imprint on his team's 4-3 win over the Billings Mustangs. Kolenda was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Joplin in the contest. Orlando Sanchez sewed up the save, his 28th. The last-place Fireballs now have a record of 64-75.

Kolenda had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 changeup from Caleb Newsom, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Fireballs a 4-2 lead. It was the 33rd home run of the year for Kolenda.

In postgame remarks, Kolenda applauded his team's "resolve."
