Behind a solid performance from first baseman Abel Fell, the Baton Rouge Outlaws defeated the Calgary Hitmen, 9-1. Fell went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Outlaws. Francisco Pereda was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Duran. Baton Rouge is now 59-60, while Calgary is 68-51.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Fell hit a 2-run home run off Alex Duran. It propelled the Outlaws into the lead, 2-0.

"They took it to us," said Calgary manager Brandon Ashley.
