Starting pitcher Eric Engel pitched well enough to help the Fort Worth Cats beat the Cozumel Beaches, 10-3. The last-place Beaches now sit at 61-77.

Fort Worth used a well-timed hit by Rich Horvath to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cats ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.

"Eric was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Fort Worth manager Dudha Goli.
