Cowboys Scratch Out 1-0 Win
|
The Calgary Cowboys got a magnificent effort from pitcher Edgar Pedraza, who kept Waimea hitters in check en route to a 1-0 Cowboys win at The Wind Tunnel. The winning pitcher was Pedraza, now 17-4. He tossed 7 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 5. Josh Caldwell earned the save, his 13th.
Had Aaron Renn not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Renn hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Cowboys.
"We're movin' and groovin' right now," said Pedraza.
The second-place Cowboys have won 8 in a row.
