The Cairo Sphinx went down to defeat to Doug Castro and his Albuquerque teammates. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Cacti. Castro went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-0. Terry Yarrigle recorded the save for Albuquerque, his 1st of the season.
Elijah Brown hit a 2-run triple off Harold Lane in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Cacti in front, 2-1. Brown had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Brown told the Albuquerque Today.
The first-place Cacti have won 4 consecutive games.
