Outlaws Jolt Falcons with Late Rally
|
Forest Acres got a terrific performance from right fielder Paul Howley, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baton Rouge Outlaws. Baton Rouge won the McClure Field contest, 7-5. Howley was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Satoshi Yamada converted his 17th save in 19 tries. Baton Rouge is now 59-79.
Baton Rouge took a 6-5 lead on Nate Roe's 80th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Roe hit in the top of the eighth, left Forest Acres pitcher Jaden Brown visibly frustrated.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Roe. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
