Pennsylvania got a valiant performance from pitcher Robby Welsh, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vancouver Pioneers. Vancouver won the game, 6-4. Welsh threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Kenny Poor in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Matt York took the loss. Clay Clermont, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Colin Magne? The 2065 Rookie of the Year Award winner Magne stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Vancouver up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Different night, same tune, unfortunately," said losing manager Aaron Barnes.

The win lifts Vancouver to a record of 15-14.
