Ray Leads Kodiaks to 11-6 Win Over Cats
Led by Xavier Ray, the Calgary Kodiaks downed the Fort Worth Cats, 11-6. Ray was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Kodiaks. The win was credited to Dennis Follett in relief. His record improves to 8-2. Nick Eichman took the loss. The second-place Kodiaks hiked their record to 67-49.

The Cats had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Kodiaks going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old left fielder Michael Klar came to the plate. Klar hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 splitter from Fort Worth hurler Nick Eichman. It was Klar's 14th home run of the year.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Klar told the Calgary Daily.
