Ambition Overcome Great Performance by Matte in Win
Tallahassee left fielder Griffin Matte had a good game, even if his team did not. The Captains dropped a 7-6 decision to Indianapolis at The Carrier Dome. Matte went 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Getting the save was Brian Oubre, his 11th. The TML AAA Joe Torre Division-leading Ambition have a record of 70-46.

Indianapolis pinch hitter Ken Martin contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Ambition ahead, 7-5.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Martin said.
