Butterflies Knock Off Montreal, 4-3
|
The Pennsylvania Butterflies scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Montreal Mounties at Mount Royal Grounds. Pennsylvania pitcher Trace Yeadon held his own in the contest. Yeadon picked up the win for Pennsylvania, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 10 hits. He now sports a record of 3-4. The Butterflies saw their win-loss record go to 16-20. At the same time, the Mounties fell to 26-10.
Pennsylvania used a clutch at-bat from Alex Fernandez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Butterflies ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Trace did a heck of a job," said Pennsylvania manager D.J. Fisher.
