The Thunder Bay Black Bears knocked off the Cozumel Beaches, 7-5, at Edgbaston. Jong-Min Kim Jr. was a big reason Thunder Bay won. The second baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Bobby Papenfus in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dusty Miranda took the loss. The Black Bears move to 61-54 with the win, while the Beaches drop to 56-59.

Kim Jr. had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Dusty Miranda, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Black Bears a 7-5 lead. It was the 16th double of the year for Kim Jr..
