Moreno Stars as Slice Top Sasquatch, 8-1
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Manhattan Slice and Seattle Sasquatch came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Manhattan Slice defeated the Seattle Sasquatch, 8-1, in Roberto Clemente League action at Copps Park. Frank Moreno pulled his weight. The 14-year veteran was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Seattle is 7-19 after the loss.
With Manhattan leading 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Moreno hit a 2-run single off Seattle hurler Curt Hall Jr.. It was the 24th hit of the season for Moreno and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"I thought we were prepared," Seattle manager Alim bin Umar said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
