Calgary got a terrific game from designated hitter David Jankowski. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Minneapolis, 10-8. Jankowski was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Picking up the save was Mike O'Neil. He's now 27 for 31 in save chances. The 6th-place Cowboys have lost 4 consecutive games.

Minneapolis used the timely hitting of Chris Williams to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Freeze on top, 10-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Williams, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
