Bighorn designated hitter Antaken Habimana contributed significantly to his team's 7-5 win over the Seattle Sasquatch. Habimana, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2056, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bison. Elias Zuniga was the winner. He's now 3-0. The loser was fireballing left-hander Scott Eiken. Mel Ibarra, who finished 4th in the RCL in strikeouts with 171 last year, nailed down the save.
It could have been a different outcome for Bighorn, had it not been for Unpei Takeshita, the slick-fielding second baseman . Takeshita contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Bighorn up, 6-4.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Habimana told the Bighorn News.
Seattle now has a record of 13-13.
