Hitmen Prove Rude Guests, Win 8-4 at Peoria
|
Ismael Serrano had a good game, but he could not keep the Peoria Caterpillars from falling, 8-4, to the Calgary Hitmen at Excavatar Park. The Peoria second baseman went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. Seth Watkins got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 6. The Hitmen now own a record of 64-66.
Calgary used the timely hitting of Ricardo Rosas to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hitmen ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rosas said after the game.
