The Fairfield Flash trumped the Billings Mustangs, 6-4, at Cobb Field. Fairfield right fielder Esteban Rivera was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Miguel Torres, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. Fairfield now sits at 60-68, while Billings falls to 52-77.
The most crucial at-bat for Fairfield came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Rivera stroked a 0-2 fastball to left for a 3-run home run, putting Fairfield up, 5-4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rivera told the Fairfield News. "It's as simple as that."
