Cacti Stymie Minneapolis, Take 2-0 Win
|
Ricky Juarez pitched a gem to lead Albuquerque to a 2-0 victory over the Minneapolis Freeze. The winning pitcher was Juarez, now 8-3. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The first-place Cacti have won 4 straight.
The Albuquerque win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Arvid van der Reijden. In the top of the third, the Albuquerque left fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Jim Crawford. "That was the problem."
