Mustangs Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Caterpillars, 10-8
Billings center fielder Javier Lopez helped his team beat the Peoria Caterpillars, 10-8. Lopez, who is tied for 10th in the TAAA in home runs with 19, went 2 for 3 for the Mustangs. Bobby Avila picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-10. Kenny Hoyles, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2061 draft, was tagged with the loss. Carlos Montelongo was credited with the save for Billings, his 2nd of the season.

Billings used a timely hit from Noah Robbins to get the win. The catcher stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mustangs ahead, 10-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Lopez told the Billings News.

With the win, the Mustangs are 36-72.
