The Amarillo Armadillos wanted a good start from Malik Combs -- and he delivered one. The result was a 5-2 Amarillo win over the Pasadena Bumblebees at Armadillos Park. The winning pitcher was Combs, now 2-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The third-place Bumblebees dropped to 55-52.

The Armadillos got a big at-bat from right fielder Danny Aurelio. For the game, Aurelio was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Amarillo a 4-1 lead.
