Pasadena catcher Nate Barnett had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 11-3, to Peoria at Excavatar Park. Barnett went 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks. Mike Kalk, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The Caterpillars saw their win-loss record go to 69-57. At the same time, the Bumblebees fell to 64-61.

The Caterpillars got a big hit from left fielder Jasper Bisson. Facing Pasadena pitcher Mike Coker in the bottom of the eighth, Bisson pounded a grand slam home run to left-center. His 17th home run of the season put the Caterpillars ahead, 11-2.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Bisson told the Peoria Herald.
