The Fort Worth Cats went down to defeat to Johnny Rymer and his Calgary teammates. The final score was 5-1 in favor of the Hitmen. Rymer, now 4-3, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The third-place Hitmen lifted their record to 62-64.
Alberto Rios had a big bases-clearing triple for the Hitmen in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Calgary leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Yukihiro Nakamoto and stroked the triple to left. It was his 7th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hitmen ahead, 4-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Rymer told the Calgary Today.
