Marauders Jolt Jazz, 6-4, with Late Rally
|
The Maple Marauders beat the Montreal Jazz, 6-4, at Magnificent Marauders Mansion. Nick Holmes Jr., in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner in relief was Dennis Krupski. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Nate Yelinek, who finished 3rd in the RCL in saves with 32 in 2051, nailed down the save.
Holmes Jr. had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Logan Evans, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Marauders a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Holmes Jr..
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Holmes Jr.. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
Now 9-16, the Jazz have not played well this season.
