Led by Larry Capobianco, the Albany Firebirds downed the Minneapolis Freeze, 8-7, in 12 innings. Capobianco went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Firebirds. The Firebirds improved their record to 56-48 by beating Minneapolis.

Albany used a timely hit from Juan Mora to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Firebirds ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"There's no quit in this team," said Firebirds manager Garry Rabenek.
