Muskies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Armadillos
|
The Madison Muskies picked up a win at Armadillos Park, downing the Amarillo Armadillos, 4-2, in 10 innings. On the mound for Madison was right-hander Pete Newby, who played a pivotal role in the win. Mike Ming picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Bryan Tetrick suffered the loss. Madison is now 60-44, Amarillo 44-60.
Madison needed the clutch hitting of Roberto Rosario to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Muskies on top, 3-2. For the game, Rosario had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Newby.
