The Albuquerque Cacti polished off the Bowling Green Racers by the score of 6-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to right fielder Kerry Stricker. Stricker went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Cacti. Jack Anthony recorded his 3rd save for Albuquerque. Albuquerque is now 56-48, while Bowling Green is 54-50.
Stricker had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-2 fastball from Corey Gordon, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Cacti a 6-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Stricker.
"Kerry was ready to go. Big day for him," said Albuquerque manager Randy Haynes.
