Joplin shortstop Tom Cray had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Albany Firebirds, 11-2. Picking up the win was Nate Lefkowitz. He went 9 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The left--hander struck out 8 and walked 2. Joplin bumps their record to 45-58 with the win.

Edwin Cuevas had a big 2-run home run for the Fireballs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Joplin trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from Jim Metcalfe, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Fireballs on top, 3-2.

"Not my idea of a good time," Albany manager Vicente Vargas said, when asked afterward about the game.
