Lewis Excels, But Beaches Win
Cozumel and State College took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

State College center fielder Chris Lewis pounded Cozumel Beaches pitchers at Bar Habor Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Swallowtails from falling, 11-3. Lewis was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. David Harkey, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held State College to 3 runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts.

Ryan Tucker had a big 2-run double for the Beaches in the bottom of the first inning. With Cozumel trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Alex Estrada and swatted a double to left. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beaches ahead, 3-2.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Tucker.

By defeating State College, the 6th-place Beaches improved to 50-53.
