Cacti Drop Flash, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Frank Medina gave the Albuquerque Cacti a rock-solid effort. The Bayamón, Puerto Rico native helped his team defeat the Fairfield Flash, 3-2, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The Cacti raised their record to 61-59.
The Cacti got a big hit from designated hitter Jose Sierra. Facing Fairfield pitcher Oscar Aviles in the bottom of the sixth, Sierra pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 22nd double of the season put the Cacti ahead, 3-1.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Chris Schmidt.
