Starting pitcher Mike Batten fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Amarillo Armadillos stymie the Billings Mustangs, 8-2. Batten, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. At 64-56, the Armadillos claim first place in the TML AAA Joe Torre Division.

Dan Savard had a big 3-run home run for the Armadillos in the bottom of the third inning. With Amarillo leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Jeremy Hillman and swatted a home run to center. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Armadillos ahead, 4-0.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Savard. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
