Fairfield left fielder John Myers had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Myers was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as Waimea beat the Flash, 11-7. Waimea reliever Vince Erbeck was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Raul Ramirez took the loss. The Wind saw their record improve to 60-59.

In the top of the 2nd, Waimea took the lead on a 2-run single by Roy Santaniello. At the time, the Wind were trailing 1-0, but Santaniello's hit with two outs against Fairfield pitcher Raul Ramirez put them in front, 2-1.

Santaniello told the Waimea Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
